Vyoman Jain

Master of Science in Technology and Design (AI) student at Singapore University of Technology and Design, and Research Intern at A*STAR.

Previously at Apple, CognitiveLab, and Sarvam AI. CSE undergrad from PES University, Bangalore.

I’m interested in computer vision and building systems for AI. My work so far has been vision-language models for documents in languages the field has left behind, and the data and inference infrastructure they depend on.

I’m currently a research intern at A*STAR, working part-time on AI security under Dr. Dinil Mon Divakaran at the Institute of Advanced Intelligence and Computing, alongside my master’s at SUTD.

I helped build Nayana at CognitiveLab: a family of document-centric vision-language models trained on synthetic data. That meant producing over 2 million pages across 22 languages, then using it to train Nayana-OCR and the NetraEmbed retrieval models. Nayana won Meta’s Llama Impact Grant in 2025, one of ten globally.

Alongside that I’ve worked on document parsing pipelines at Sarvam AI, synthetic data for robot manipulation at IIIT Bangalore, porting llama.cpp to IBM z/OS mainframes, and AI-assisted issue triage at Apple. My capstone, HyperCluster, shards LLMs across a self-organizing peer-to-peer cluster of edge devices.

I also worked on manimator, which turns research papers into animated explanations (featured in Hugging Face’s Spaces of the Week). Outside of work, I organize quantum computing events as a Qiskit Advocate, and I’ve taught RAG and LLM agents to undergraduates through PESU I/O.

I’m always looking for new research opportunities, so if any of this overlaps with what you’re looking for, please do reach out!
